Nine sons of Dragon (2) ~Chi Wen.

Chi Wen is the youngest son of the ancient dragon.  In the five elements theory, it belongs to the water element.  When we look in the pictures of Chi Wen, it is in the shape of a fish with a dragon head, has water coming out of its mouth.

Therefore, back in the old days, people started installing it on the rooftops, on one side as a decorations, on the other side, as a prevention of getting into fire, because they believe water element can destruct the fire energy.

Apart from rooftops, it can also be seen on drainage openings, for the same kind of meaning at the back.
